Samir Hanna

As Vice President of both the Digital Factory (DF) and Industrial Design (ID) organizations, Samir Hanna, Ph.D., champions the democratization of digital manufacturing technologies in an industry where only specialized competitive applications have been available. Samir is responsible for product strategy, release planning, and pricing for the Autodesk DF and ID products.

Samir is a seasoned entrepreneur and executive, with more than 25 years of experience in the CAD/CIM/CAE, Internet and computer graphics industries. Before joining Autodesk, Samir was founder and CEO of Hanna Strategies, a leading CAD off-shoring software contractor based predominately in Shanghai. Between 2001 and 2007, Hanna Strategies was one of the fastest growing software companies in China.

Autodesk acquired Hanna Strategies in early 2008. With that acquisition, a talented development team joined all of Autodesk’s divisions with special emphasis on the Manufacturing Industry Group (MFG).

Prior to Hanna Strategies, Dr. Hanna held various executive positions with the Internet collaboration company Alventive and IronCAD. He also cofounded 3D/EYE, a leading provider of computer graphics software to Hewlett Packard in the 1980’s.

Samir holds a doctorate in engineering from Cornell University, with an emphasis on computer graphics.
