Barry Hale, born in 1958, is a Chartered Engineer and has a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Now in his 30th year of Computer-Aided Design (CAD), he has spent the last 14 years working with Class-A surfacing in Automotive companies around the world; such as Ford, Jaguar, Landrover, Aston Martin, Bentley, Volvo Car, Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Lotus, Rover (SAIC), VW Shanghai, Tata, Volvo Trucks, Scania and many of their suppliers and support agencies such as Semcon, Caran, Gesab, Cliff Design, Bertrandt, RLE, Rugby Design, Technicon and ARRK.
Currently he works as a Nufo (DSM) Leader for Volvo Trucks in Sweden, managing Class-A surface release downstream into Engineering (Catia V5), and also provides support on a steering group for process management and surface definition. Hi duites include day-to-day activities with Designers, Studio Engineers, Clay Modellers and Surfacers.
Working predominantly with ICEM Surf, he has travelled extensively to support sales and provide benchmarking and technical services, and has lived in UK & Europe, USA, Japan, and China. In additon to ICEM Surf, he also has experience of ICEM Shape Design (ISD), Catia V5, I-DEAS Master Series (UG-NX), Pro/E, Alias, Opus Realizer, and GeoMagic.
Working together with surface modellers and managers, he has excellent knowledge of design, surfacing, process management and technology, as the working environment adapts to changes in the industry, both from a hardware and software perspective.
In addition to his committment to improving user knowledge and skills, he has also ran two marathons for charity, including London this year.
