Alexander Fuchs

Alexander Fuchs brings 25 years of experience in 3D surface modeling, machining and visualization in the automotive and industrial design industry to his role as Product Manager at Autodesk.
After his master degree in mechanical engineering, he starts his career as an en Engineer, working for a tier one supplier, designing brake systems. Very soon he switched over to a software company called Control Data, where he worked as a consultant in the CAD/CAM environment, mainly in the area of modeling and ClassA surfacing using Icem Surf.
After 12 years with Control Data, Alexander was hired by Alias, which became Alias|wavefront and was later acquired by Autodesk.
During this time, until now, Alexander focused his efforts to all the visualization tasks needed in the automotive industry. He was doing customer projects with mainly with AutoStudio and Maya and focused his work on integrating these technologies into regular engineering workflows.
His main accomplishment in the area of visualization has been the integration of various Maya render farms at Volkswagen and Audi.
With the start of the Showcase development, Alexander was asked to assist the development team as an internal consultant, later he became a full member of the Toronto Showcase Team, working in Product Definition.
The replacement of Daimler´s real-time system with Showcase in the Design and Marketing environment had been another milestone, before he accepted his new role as Product Manager for Showcase.
